Terms of Service
Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and [TODO: legal entity name and registered address] ("Doclight", "we", "us"). They apply to the website at doclight.app, the app at app.doclight.app, the API at api.doclight.app, the free scanner at try.doclight.app, and the Doclight SDKs and MCP server (together, "the service").
By creating an account or using the service you accept these terms. If you use Doclight for a company, you confirm that you can accept them on its behalf, and "you" means that company.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
What Doclight does
Doclight measures AI visibility: it sends the questions you track to AI providers through their official APIs, records whether the answers mention your brand, link to your site or name competitors, and reports the results over time. It can also check your website for AI readiness and suggest actions.
No platform can guarantee how an AI provider answers. Doclight measures, explains and tracks changes. It does not promise more mentions, citations, traffic or sales.
Your account
- Give accurate information and keep your email address current.
- Keep your password and API keys secret. You are responsible for activity under your account and keys.
- Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you think your account or a key has been compromised.
- You must be old enough to enter a binding contract. [TODO: minimum age]
Plans and billing
- Current plans and prices are on the pricing page. Each plan has its own limits, for example on brands, questions and scans.
- Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. Its terms also apply to your purchase, and it may add taxes depending on where you are.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each monthly or annual period until cancelled.
- You can cancel in the app's settings at any time. Access continues until the end of the period you have paid for, and the subscription does not renew.
- Refunds: [TODO: refund policy]
- Price changes: [TODO: notice period for price changes on existing subscriptions]
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law, or infringe anyone else's rights, through the service
- add websites to crawls or agent task audits that you do not own or have permission to test
- put other people's personal data, or confidential information you may not share, into tracked questions or the assistant
- try to get around plan limits, rate limits or access controls, or access other customers' data
- overload, probe or disrupt the service, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows
- [TODO: any further restrictions, for example on reselling access (note that Agency plans share white-label reports with clients)]
We may suspend access that puts the service, other customers or third parties at risk. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
Your data
You keep all rights to the data you put into Doclight (brands, questions, settings, SDK events) and to the reports produced from it. You give us permission to store, process and display that data only as needed to run the service for you, including sending it to the providers described in the Privacy Policy.
You can export your data and delete your account in the app at any time.
AI answers and measurements
Answers come from third-party AI providers. They change over time, can be inaccurate, and may differ between runs, regions and languages. Doclight reports what was measured, when and how; it does not verify that an answer is true. Recommendations are suggestions for you to review, not guarantees of a result.
API, SDKs and MCP server
- API keys are scoped. Use each key only for its scope, keep it server-side, and do not embed it in browser code.
- Requests are rate limited. Write actions that consume quota, such as starting a run, count toward your plan.
- The SDKs are provided under their own licenses. [TODO: confirm SDK license]
- If you install an SDK in your own website or MCP server, you are responsible for telling your users about the data it sends and for having a lawful basis to send it.
The free scanner
The scanner at try.doclight.app is free, needs no account, and is provided as is. Only scan websites you are allowed to scan. We may limit or stop the free scanner at any time.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Doclight available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. [TODO: any uptime commitment] We may change or remove features. If a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using Doclight and delete your account at any time. We may end these terms or suspend your account if you seriously or repeatedly break them, or if we must by law. If we stop offering the service, we will give you reasonable notice so you can export your data.
Disclaimers and liability
To the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind beyond those stated in these terms.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to [TODO: liability cap, for example the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim].
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [TODO: governing law], and disputes belong to the courts of [TODO: jurisdiction], unless mandatory law where you live says otherwise.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms we update the date at the top of this page. For material changes we will tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply.
